Every October illustrators all over the world get involved in #inktober, a drawing challenge where you draw a picture using ink for every day of the month. The challenge was started by Jake Parker in 2009 and he posts prompts that you can use to help, or you can make up your own.
I've been following the prompts and here are my first seven pictures. I like the way a daily challenge makes me work more quickly which in turn stops me from thinking too much about what I'm creating. I draw things I wouldn't normally draw and it also takes me back to using line drawing which is a technique I used when I first started illustrating. Because the images aren't towards a larger project, like a book or Etsy products, it really takes the pressure off. Seven done, twenty four to go!
